Veterans
Keystone Community Development Corporation (KCDC) recognizes the importance of honoring those men and women who have proudly served our country in the U.S. Military. For this reason, KCDC is always compiling resources to provide to military veterans and their families. Our agency feels that the sacrifices that were made for our freedom need to be rewarded with a helping hand when our troops return home from combat and training.
Founded in August 2015 SERVE (South East Resource Veterans’ Efforts) was created to provide access to resources for Veterans and their families in the greater Gulf Coast Area.
“The Mission of SERVE is to bring gulf coast area veterans groups and organizations together to combine resources and information to improve the lives of our military personnel and their families.”
With over 60 local and national organizations and countless individual contributors, we have access to a wealth of knowledge and resources to help find the answers you are looking for. Please visit the SERVE website at www.setexasheroes.com to learn more about us and the organizations we partner with. If you are needing assistance, please go to our website and click on “Contact Us”.
Another great resource we provide on a continuing basis when funds are available is the HAVEN Grant. This grant opportunity allows us to assist veterans and active-duty personnel with necessary modifications to their homes if they were disabled by active military service since September 11, 2001. All of this is made possible through our relationship with FHLB-Dallas. Keystone CDC has been able to assist veterans in making modifications to their homes that include ramps for handicap access, widening doorways for wheelchair path, and other repairs that allow for a more comfortable home life.
If you or someone you know could benefit from our resources available to Veterans, please go to www.setexasheroes.com and click on “Contact Us” to determine eligibility and the resources that are available to you.
